Many people assume that leaders are people who run businesses or countries. The truth is that the true leaders are often the people that we least expect. The Victoria Cross is an award given out for outstanding bravery. It is an award that is rarely awarded and one of the key criteria is that you have had to have been in a life or death situation when you showed outstanding bravery. Throughout Europe, Margaret Thatcher is known as the iron lady. The reason for this is because when she made a decision, nothing to change her mind. Although some people might call this stubborn, she had a right to be stubborn because of the way in which she made her decision. Choosing the Right ChallengesSubmitted by editor on Wed, 01/30/2008 - 07:20. Shortly after winning the Masters in 1997, Tiger Woods was asked if he could win golf's Grand Slam by winning all four major tournaments in a year. This was something that had not been done before in the history of the game. Religion and the IndividualSubmitted by editor on Thu, 10/18/2007 - 06:49.
In truth, religion is similar to a shoe. If a person had one shoe and expected everybody's foot to fit into it perfectly, this would simply not happen. Similarly, with religion, everybody cannot fit into the idealistic concepts that are the foundation of their beliefs. Self-ControlSubmitted by editor on Thu, 10/18/2007 - 06:43.
Life is a series of temptations, we go through time being tempted by money, fame and love. However, each of these temptations are distractions from our true jounrey. In life, we must each follow our own path. It may seem an awkward thought, but we are all uniquely different. Thus, our paths, our needs and our goals are different. Goals and Goal-SettingSubmitted by editor on Thu, 10/18/2007 - 06:40.
Many of us have a sense of direction, but it is a confused and misunderstood ideal that cannot truly influence us. Having goals and a direction is akin to going on a journey. If you are unsure of where you want to get to, you will probably not get there. Similarly, even if you know where you are going and are not sure how you will get there, it will be much easier to find a way to succeed. Goals are the very juice of life. They are our chance to take control and shape our future. Decisions and its Original Latin RootSubmitted by editor on Wed, 10/17/2007 - 15:57.
The word decision, in its original Latin root, means to cut off from any other situation. Consequently, a decision is something that must be fulfilled. It is an obligation to oneself and to others. Throughout history, we have seen how some simple decisions have led to great events. Rosa Parks' refusal to give up her seat on a bus led to the Civil Rights movement in America. Similarly, Mahatma Gandhi's decision not to resort to violence defeated the greatest empire the world had seen. DecisionsSubmitted by editor on Wed, 10/17/2007 - 15:15.
Donald Trump has an interesting view on decisions. Whenever he has to make an important decision, he always asks two questions. The first question that he asks is what is the worst case scenario. The second question that he asks is can he handle it. The next time that you are faced with an important decision or an interesting opportunity, ask yourself the following questions. Become the change you want to see - Mahatma GandhiSubmitted by editor on Wed, 10/17/2007 - 15:06.
Gandhi's strongest characteristic was his constant commitment to peace, no matter how he was dealt with. Gandhi had a very interesting philosophy that we should all practice. He believed that you must first become the change you want to see. If you want to live in a peaceful world, you must first become peaceful. If you want to live in an ethical world, you must first become ethical. By doing this, you become an inspiration. You become the light that others follow to make the world the place that you want it to become. |
