Commitment

Peace One Day

Jeremy Gilley spent years to establish an international day of peace. For many people, world peace is just a wish. For the British film director Jeremy Gilley, it is something that he has chosen to act upon.

Gilley was surprised to find that throughout the history of humanity, there has not been a single day in which there has been peace. Everyday, since man has walked on earth, there has been war in one place or another, on every single day.

This fact astonished Gilley and he made it a project to bring peace to earth. His philosophy was that if we want to build a house, it is one brick at a time. If we want world peace, it is one day at a time.

Become the change you want to see - Mahatma Gandhi

Gandhi became the change he wanted to see. One of the most influential people of the 20th Century was Mahatma Gandhi.

Gandhi's strongest characteristic was his constant commitment to peace, no matter how he was dealt with.

Gandhi had a very interesting philosophy that we should all practice.

He believed that you must first become the change you want to see. If you want to live in a peaceful world, you must first become peaceful. If you want to live in an ethical world, you must first become ethical.

By doing this, you become an inspiration. You become the light that others follow to make the world the place that you want it to become.

Certainty

Martin Luther King's I have a Dream speech was given with conviction and certainty. The most important human need is that of certainty. We need to feel certain that our actions or our ideas will lead to a positive outcome for both ourselves and others.

The difference between something being successful or not is the level of certainty that is behind it.

If you are certain that it will succeed, it will seem effortless to achieve it.

If you are uncertain that it will succeed, fear and a sense of concern will block you from successfully achieving what you desire.

The Catergories of Success

Do you stop after you face your first obstacle? Every body has a goal.

Most people take the first steps towards its completion.

Some people fall at the first hurdle or quit after the first setback.

Few people step past this and continue to persevere.

Very few people persevere past every failure until they finally reach success.

Which category do you fall into?

We all have dreams and goals. What separates those who live their dreams and those that dream their dreams is which category of persistence they fit into. To achieve a goal is very simple. You just have to succeed one more time than you fail. In many cases, you just need to succeed once. The amount of failures that you have is inconsequential. It is the number of successes that you have that truly matters.
