In Conversations with God, Neale Donald Walsch writes the following words:

"The real secret is that life is not a process of discovery, but a process of creation. You are not discovering yourself, but creating yourself anew. Seek, therefore, not to find out who you are, seek to determine who you want to be."

Most of us spend our lives trying to live up to everyone else's expectations.

We try and be the person that our parents want us to be. That our friends want us to be. That our spouse wants us to be. That our boss wants us to be.

In doing so, we lose the greatest gift in life, which is the ability to choose and be who we want to be. As a result, our own dreams and ambitions do not get fulfilled as we are too busy fulfilling the dreams and ambitions of ours.

Take some time today to commit to spending a day being who you want to be. Do not worry about the past or the rules that you have always lived with. Focus on being who you want to be.
