Become the change you want to see - Mahatma GandhiSubmitted by editor on Wed, 10/17/2007 - 15:06.
Gandhi's strongest characteristic was his constant commitment to peace, no matter how he was dealt with. Gandhi had a very interesting philosophy that we should all practice. He believed that you must first become the change you want to see. If you want to live in a peaceful world, you must first become peaceful. If you want to live in an ethical world, you must first become ethical. By doing this, you become an inspiration. You become the light that others follow to make the world the place that you want it to become. Take some time to ponder these words and commit to living to a new standard. Although Mahatma Gandhi was not a great speaker or an imposing figure, he did what many people before him could not do. Through a passive and peaceful protest, he won independence for India and brought down the might British Empire. What was the difference between Gandhi and those who had failed? A simple commitment to what he passionately believed in, a peaceful solution that would, hopefully, lead to a peaceful world. Reply |
