The Habits of Health
Submitted by editor on Tue, 01/08/2008 - 07:58.
Recent research by the University of Cambridge has shown
that four simple habits can increase your life expectancy by up to 14 years.
The research, which took place over 10 years and involved 20,000 participants, found that people who followed these principles had an average life expectancy of 74, whilst those who did not follow any of them had a life expectancy of 60. The four factors in question are taking regular exercise, eating five portions of fruit and vegetables per day, drinking alcohol moderately and not smoking. The study, which covered many different segments of society, found that factors such as wealth, ethnic origin and social position could not conclusively be linked to life expectancy. Which of these habits do you practice daily and which of them can you adopt in to your life to help you live a happier and healthier life? Bookmark this post with: [ What's This? ] |
