Opportunities

Toilet rolls were invented 50 years after the toilet! Our ability to spot opportunities is an important skill that separates us from other animals.

Through rational thought and logic, we can make connections so that different things can be combined.

A prime example of our ability to spot opportunities comes from the toilet.

Although the toilet was invented in the mid 1700's, it was not for some 50 years that someone invented toilet paper, even though the tissue was in existence!

This highlights the fact that for over 50 years, the experience of going to the toilet was not improved in any way.

Fortunately, we live in a very effecient time. Our experiences are constantly improving as everything is getting faster, smaller and cheaper.

Our ability to spot opportunities is crucial because it is the only way in which we can improve ourselves and our situations. The more opportunities we spot and gratify, the quicker we will grow.

In order to grow, we need to key pieces of information. What do we want to grow into and how can we grow into it? Our dreams and our goals are what we want to grow into and our ideas and experience provide ways from which we can think about how we will grow into it. We need to spot opportunities if we want to grow. The best way to do this is by asking how can I improve and, once you have something that you want to improve to, find a strategy that will get you there.
