Changing Your Focus

John Demartini teaches us about focus. Dr. John Demartini is a man who has overcome all odds to achieve success. At school, he was told that he would never learn to read or write. However, through perseverance and effort he achieved this and has excelled academically (achieving a PhD in Quantum Physics) and has become a best-selling personal development author. One of his most important lessons is about how what we focus on determines our lives.

Let us use an example for this. When we are young, are main focus is having fun and going out. Most of our time, money and effort are spent on activities that allow us to do this.

As we grow older, get married and have children, our focus shifts to providing for our family. Most of our time, money and effort are spent on this.

Finally, as we enter retirement, we focus on activities and fulfilling life-long ambitions. Most of our time, money and effort are spent on this.

The difference between normal people and successful people is what they focus on. They spend some of their time and money investing it on developing skills and finding mentors who will help them grow.

How do you spend most of your time and money? How much of it is used in activities that help you grow? The answer to this will give you a clear indication of where you will be in the future.
