Your Legacy

Simon Cowell will pledge most of his fortune to charity. In his book, the Eighth Habit, Stephen Covey says that there are four key parts to love.

These are to live, to love, to learn and to leave a legacy.

Throughout the last few years, many leading social figures have started to contemplate leaving a legacy.

Bill Gates, for example, has pledge $48 billion of his $50 billion fortune to charity. Similarly, Simon Cowell has pledged to donate $180 million of his $200 million fortune to charity after his death.

As we enter the weekend, take some time to contemplate what legacy you will leave this world. It may not be a financial legacy, but might be a great piece of art, a beautiful garden, a website that you have donated a lot of time and care to or, quite simply, some beautiful children who will go on to add happiness to many lives.

Once you have decided what your legacy will be, take some time to imagine how much benefit the world will get from it. This, ultimately, will make you realise just how important you are in the grand scheme of life.
