How much time do you waste waiting?

How much time do you spend waiting? How much time do you spend waiting each day? Studies in America find that the average American spends between 42 to 60 minutes each day waiting, whether it is in traffic, cuing up or on hold.

Lisa Hepner, from Oregon, USA, has set up a campaign that challenges us to spend this time better. She says that we should use this to meditate and has set up a Don’t Wait – Meditate campaign that she hopes will enable people to live calmer and healthier lives.

Surveys have showed that people all over the world know the benefits ofmeditation but most people say that they do not have the time for it. Lisa hopes that by encouraging people to denote some of the idle time that they spend waiting to meditation, the benefits can be enjoyed by all.

As an experiment, why not see how much time you spend waiting each day. Could
you use this time better? Could you use it to meditate?
