Only Results

We decide whether we have succeeded or failedWhenever we do something, we do not succeed or fail. We simply produce results.

What this means is that our actions produce results and then we decide whether or not these results are what we wanted. If they are, then we have succeeded. If they are not, then we have failed.

By understanding the fact that you decide whether a result has been a success or a failure can be enlightening.

It allows you to look back at your past and see how well you have judged the results previously.

What results did you deem to be successful at the time but now, with hindsight, realise were not really the cases. Similarly, what did you get disappointed with in the past that actually proved to do you good?

Take some time to look back and see how well you have judged success and failure in the past? By understanding how well you have judged it in the past, you can work on becoming a better judge of success and failure in the future.
